About Snug Organics

Snug Organics grew from the life experiences and wholeheartedness of Erin Royer.  Her idea to create a safe sustainable product and an earth-conscious company stems from her appreciation for things natural, years of teaching elementary school and a strong sense of civil responsibility.

Teaching third and fourth graders for eight years helped build Erin’s frame of reference for the special needs of children and the alarming rise in rates of learning and developmental disabilities, including autism, ADD/ADHD, asthma, allergies and obesity.  Her success in the classroom was due in part to her ability to see the potential in every child and lead them to this place of possibility. It was innate for her to place the same high standard of quality on Snug Organics.

But her love and commitment is most evident in her role as a mother.  Her two boys serve as the fuel for Snug Organics. Like many women, difficulty with pregnancy and infant loss heightened Erin’s sensitivity and caused her to question the choices she was making when it came to shopping for everyday items for her sons.  Her elevated awareness helped her to understand the seriousness of the toxic surroundings that impact us all.  She chose to tackle the problems stemming from chemicals commonly found in infant clothing, especially flame retardants.  Her research led her to scientific evidence that chemical and environmental hazards are a large contributor to the rapidly growing childhood epidemics.

The launch of Snug Organics is Erin’s solution to her findings and serves as her pledge to create products for babies and toddlers that match the purity of our children. Equally important is the environmentally friendly, low impact manner in which these products are produced. Snug Organics is the summit of countless hours of research, two years of trial and error and a lot of design, which was done by her incredibly talented, saint-like husband, Erik, who also contributes much of this website’s content.
